The Salt King Return— PPD Surprises in a “Fun” Roster.

Peter “ppd” Dager is ready for a comeback to the competitive Dota 2 scene after his announced hiatus back in April. However, much to many fan’s dismay, this return might be temporary. It was eagle-eyed fans who first discovered Dager’s participation in the Dota Summit 13 open qualifiers, his name being writer under a random stack of players.

Soon after, Peter took to Twitter to formally announce his return. Likewise, he took the opportunity to announce the brave players that will accompany him on the Summit—dnm, esk, dyun and Boris—a fair mix of prominent names in the North American region sprinkled with a few lesser-known participants. It is an odd selection for someone as ppd, but perhaps, it is exactly what he needs to reignite his passion for the competitive Dota 2 scene. Many have qualified the team as a “for fun” team, seeing them as a group looking to get as far as they can while enjoying the journey in the NA competition.

“I have been thinking about coming back to Dota to be completely honest with you. But I think I am just going to do what Fear is doing, and just chill out and see where things are at in like January.

We’ll see what it looks like. We’ll see what the NA scene looks like, what kind of tournaments are popping up, shit like that and maybe it’ll happen. 2020 has been a crazy year guys”

A notable addition to the stack is Noah “Boris” Minhas, a veteran in the competitive Dota 2 scene, originated from Canada.  Boris has been lately notorious for bouncing from team to team, having played the latest for Team BananaSlamJamma in the Dota 2 Showdown, hosted by Twitch last June.

David “dnm” Cossio is a promising 17-year-old gamer who has been rising through the NA ranks. David is best known for his never-breaking optimism and resilience to keep fighting for the victory against all odds. Back in June, in the BTS Pro Series 2, Cossio was well-received for refusing to throw matches, despite his teammates intentionally trying to fail.

Mexico also has a noticeable presence in ppd’s roster, with teammate Jose “esk” Coronel joining the stack. Having previously played for Team Xolotl and Omega Gaming, Coronel has demonstrated his talent in the Dota 2 games.

Finally, Daniel “dyun” Yun joins the team, having bounced from various teams in the last few years. Dyun is most known for his participation in The International 2019 NA qualifier, alongside current teammate Boris.

The roster is certainly an interesting combination—a group of players seemingly joined by their true love for the game. If you’d like to stream this event, making sure to check out ppd’s Twitch stream, today at 4PM EST.
